Insanity - Day 1

Today Anamal and I have started our next challenge…..INSANITY!  Instead of the 60 day Shaun T challenge, we have adapted the program a little to accommodate for our schedules and created a 40 day challenge coupled with Clean Eating to try to achieve the desired results (becoming a mean lean fighting machine).

What is clean eating?

Clean eating is not a diet, it is a lifestyle choice.  By eating clean one is eliminating processed foods and extra additives in your diet.

This style of eating consists of eating mainly a lot of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, complex carbs, and heart healthy fats.  The other, very important, part of this diet is to avoid all processed and refined foods; saturated and trans fats; high calorie and non-nutritious foods.

Typically it is a good idea to eat 5-6 small meals a day which will regulate blood sugar and prevent the hunger feeling.  As most eating styles, it is recommended to drink at least 8 cups of water per day.

What is the Shaun T Insanity Program?

Insanity is a style of “max interval training”.  The idea behind this training is basically the reverse of interval training.  Instead of a doing an easy to moderate workout for 3-4 minutes followed by 30 seconds at maximum intensity; Insanity is 3-4 minutes of maximum intensity followed by a 30 second rest before jumping back into maximum intensity exercises for an average of 40-65 minutes.

The structured Insanity program is intended to be completed in 60 days with options to couple Nutritious Eating and online support to aid people in achieving their maximum desired results.

Right now Anamal and I are feeling pretty confident and excited for this challenge.  Stay tuned for over the next few weeks there will be periodic updates followed by the challenge in review!
